Hardwood Flooring
Hardwood floors are a very common upgrade from carpeting and one of the most common flooring types in North America.
Hardwood floors are natural, and give a warm feeling to any room. They are very resilient to staining and will match any color scheme of your room and can be enhanced with area rugs for a nice effect.
Hardwood flooring is excellent for kids as it is completely non allergenic. Hardwood is also a natural insulator.
Did you know that 1" of wood has the same insulating effect as 15" of concrete?
Wooden flooring is also less noisy and softer than tiled floors, and generics no static electricity (compared to carpet) which can be important for rooms with computers. While wood does wear more than stone, it does wear slowly and uniformly, and is easy to repair.
See the chart below for a list of the popular North American hardwood:
*Includes Sap Gum, Basswood, Cottonwood, Hackberry, Pecan, Hickory,Birch, Beech, Tupelo, Elm, Walnut and other hardwoods.
